Description
Twenty Thousand Hertz is a lovingly crafted podcast that reveals the stories behind the world's most recognizable and interesting sounds. With over 120,000 long-term downloads per episode, we're the world's leading podcast about sound.
Our show has won three Webby Awards, and an Ambie Award for "Best Production and Sound Design." Adweek named us the "Best Innovation Podcast" of 2021, and our episode about the McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It" jingle was included in Spotify's playlist of the Best Podcast Episodes of 2021. We've been featured in The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Popular Science, NPR, Salon, GQ, The Verge, and many other outlets. Episodes of Twenty Thousand Hertz have also been featured on shows like Planet Money, Marketplace, 99% Invisible, Every Little Thing, History This Week, and Endless Thread. Our host, Dallas Taylor, was a recent TED Mainstage Speaker.
The mission of Twenty Thousand Hertz is to elevate the human sense of hearing to the same level of appreciation as our other four senses. Our show is not aimed at audiophiles or gear heads (although they will find plenty to enjoy). Instead, the aim of the show is to get regular folks in touch with the fascinating world of sound.
To that end, our show is meticulously produced and full of ear candy. In fact, we put over 250 hours of production into every episode that goes on our feed. We're also 100% clean and family friendly. Whether you're interested in pop culture, science, history or language, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Our guests have included neuroscientists, voice actors, astronauts, sound designers, historians, game developers, and celebrities like Bill Nye The Science Guy and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
We take pride in making the ads we run sound just as good as our show does. Our Host Dallas puts a lot of thought into making his ad reads warm, authentic, and conversational. We pick background music that enhances the message without distracting from it. We have a passionate audience that trusts Dallas when he recommends a brand. To hear a sample of our ads, just fire up the latest episode on our feed.
