Brad Mielke is an award-winning ABC News correspondent based in New York and hosts ABC’s daily news podcast “Start Here,” which takes a straightforward look at the day’s top news in 20 minutes.
Brad has interviewed some of the country’s biggest newsmakers including President Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Alejandro Mayorkas, Steve Mnuchin, Marco Rubio, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, James Comey, Bill Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci and more.
Since its launch in March 2018, “Start Here” has covered the world’s biggest events, and taken in-depth looks at how they shape American lives, earning Edward R. Murrow Awards for Innovation, Excellence in Sound, and Continuing Coverage. The show has won a Webby Award for Best News & Politics Podcast, as well as the first National Press Club Award at the New York Festivals Radio Awards for its coverage of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision.
