Scott Wilkinson has enjoyed 30 years as an author and editor in the home-theater industry. His latest venture is a new bimonthly podcast called AVSForum Tech Talk with Scott Wilkinson, in which he interviews notable audio and video technologists. The show streams live on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 1:00 PM Pacific time. In addition, he can be heard discussing audio and video technology on Home Theater Geeks and Ask The Tech Guys.
As a freelance journalist, Scott contributes product reviews and features to websites such as AVSForum.com, TechHive.com, ProjectorReviews.com, and ProjectorCentral.com. Previously, he served as editor of AVS Forum and held senior editorial positions at HomeTheater.com and UltimateAVmag.com (now SoundandVision.com) as well as Home Theater and Stereophile Guide to Home Theater magazines (both of which he helped launch), The Perfect Vision, Audio/Video Interiors, Connected, and etown.com.
Scott is also a professional musician who plays many different wind instruments, such as tuba, trombone, didgeridoo, conch-shell trumpet, recorder, ocarina, and various ethnic flutes. He can be heard on the soundtracks of the movies The Meg, Gladiator, White Squall, and Mystic India as well as the video games Myst 4, Uncharted, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Trek to Yomi. Scott has also recorded two albums with his avant-garde trio Many Axes and one with his wife, singer-songwriter Joanna Cazden. Their most recent project is a music video of a song they wrote about the COVID era, "When the Whole World Opens Up Again".
