Description
History of the Great War is a podcast that brings the First World War to life in a vivid narrative fashion. We journey from the borders of France in the blistering heat of 1914, to the shores of Gallipoli, to the banks of Somme, to the final knockout attempt by the German army in the spring of 1918.

My name is Wesley Livesay. I am a web developer by day and by night I like to play some video games on occassion and of course spend my time learning about history. I live in Springfield, Missouri which is pretty close to dead center of the United States.
I have always been fascinated by the period between 1914-1945. It is a period in time well covered by historians but there are always new things to discover and learn. I live in the United States, a country that does not often remember the role America played in the early decades of the 20th century.
I started this podcast to give myself the opportunity to hopefully spread the important story of the turbulent years between 1914 and 1918. While it didn't end all wars like one of its names suggests the First World War was a critical step in the events of the later 20th century.
